Comedian Willie Brown has found a way to turn an aged-old craft into a fresh new comedy act for today’s audiences. His stand up act as a comedian/ventriloquist has taken the comedy circuit by storm. He and his partner Woody are a hilarious team and the funniest stand up act you will ever see. It’s not a puppet show, rather, Willie Brown & Woody are a couple of fast talking funny intelligent, brothas (only one is made out of wood) who has their audiences mesmerized and cracking up with laughter. From advice on how to deal with the homeless to current events, Willie Brown and Woody brings it all home. It’s all Wood!!!
Originally from New Haven, CT, Willie honed his craft as a comedian/ventriloquist in Washington, D.C. and began to travel abroad. He and Woody have appeared several times on BET Comic View, HBO Def Comedy Jam, Phaturdays (pay per view), The Jenny Jones Show and a host of other pilot television programs. They have headlined many comedy clubs throughout the country and have worked with the likes of Steve Harvey, Martin Lawrence, and D.L. Hughley to name a few. They can also be seen regularly at The Laugh Factory, The Improv and the world famous Comedy Store in Hollywood, California.
Willie Brown is also an avid actor and recently appeared in the movie “All About You”, starring Debbie Allen, Chris Spencer and other notables. He has also made an impact in the commercial world booking five commercials including national spots such as American Airlines and MacDonalds.
In his hard to find spare moments Willie spends his time on exciting projects writing and developing screenplays, most notably his first completed script “Black Magic”. He also develops show concepts for himself as well as with his partner Woody. He recently developed an innovative children’s series program for syndicated television, and has recently released a new video and CD, “Out ‘Da Box”(in stores soon). Willie is also a corporate humorist who gives motivational speeches nationally.
